Inaugural Josh Hoffman Medallist 2023

After the 2022 season, Darwin Cricket News & Scores reaffirmed its commitment to the game both on and off the field for the 2024 Darwin and District Cricket Season. Named after the Second Innings Don Bradman, often referred to as the Jacques Kallis of the competition, the circuit captain, the life of the party, and an all-around asset, this award celebrates the individual who brings players together both on and off the field. This includes moments at Mitchell Street, the Infinity Pool, and karaoke on Monday nights. It is a tribute to his stories of past season heroics, such as hitting J Flynn over the TV club rooms.

Putting all that aside, the 2023 Josh Hoffman Medallist is Southern Districts' Josh Kann. Kann earned this recognition by scoring 421 runs at an average of 32, taking 7 wickets at 38, winning a 1st XI Premiership, and contributing significantly to community service. He was always willing to stay back for extra practice and created a supportive environment for his teammates. On the social circuit, Kann was a notable presence, ensuring new recruits felt welcome, dancing at events, and occasionally staying out late, but never missing a cricket game or calling in sick to work. Congratulations, Josh.

For his efforts, Kann received a bit of The Perfect Pitch kit along with a $200 bar tab to be used at Southern Districts Cricket Club (if someone from the club could get in touch for the transfer details).
