In our continued count of down of the Darwin and District Cricket Competition most memorable moments for 2023, at number five Tom Menzies being picked for the Australian U19's tour of England. The last Territorian to make an overseas Australian U19 tour (please correct if wrong) was Kyle Scrimegour who toured Sri Lanka back in 2014 and prior to that it was Tom Andrews and Joel Logan with a tour of New Zealand.
The Darwin Cricket Club's Menzies prodigious inswing and slippery action has had him blowing pads off and stumps out of the ground consistently in a every level he has played. He shouldn't be playing too many more games in the Territory as he is undoubtedly our best state or higher level prospect in the last five years.
