NT Cricket Still Silent on Pathway Player Success Stories

It is truly astonishing to observe the apparent indifference displayed by NT Cricket towards their pathway players who are excelling on a national stage. The contrast becomes stark when one imagines if athletes of the stature of D'Arcy Short or Jake Weatherald were achieving similar success in Aussie Rules; it's inconceivable that AFLNT would miss any chance to herald their achievements, leveraging such success stories to advocate for the league's role in developing national-level talent to the sports minister; Kate Worden MLA: Member for Sanderson, emphasizing the Darwin league's contribution to nurturing talent of national prominence.

This oversight becomes glaringly obvious and somewhat disheartening when considering the recognition—or the lack thereof—afforded to players. Take, for example, the commendable mention of import Queenslander Jack Wood as a squad member in the Heat's BBL premiership, despite not playing. Yet, the failure to acknowledge the significant achievements of two Territorians who have delivered remarkable performances in recent months by NT Cricket borders on incredulous.

This issue gains even more relevance considering D'Arcy Short's history as a former NT player in the Imparja Cup/NICC and his representation in the National Indigenous XI. These are accolades that NT Cricket could effortlessly integrate into their promotional narratives, akin to DCN&S's most memorable moments countdown, yet they choose to do so without acknowledging the very achievements that lend substance to such celebrations, essentially counting down to the tournament without highlighting the moments that truly matter.
